Marvelous Mud Pottery Studio

🗣️A very special sculpture shoutout! This wonderful work was created by Diana, one of our handbuilding instructors😌 Her sculpture is titled “Portrait of Self” and was inspired by her nephew and Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray”. Her beautiful women represent how others see her, how she sees herself, and how she wants to be in the future. Which, she absolutely NAILED it considering we all definitely see her as beautiful (inside and out)😉😍 Diana is a ray of sunshine who loves flowers, so of course, she included many flowers in her piece to hold her memories, reflections, and intentions going forward. Diana works so hard in the studio as an instructor, yes, but as an artist, as well. She pours all of her love and vulnerability into her sculptures and it’s an honor whenever we get to see her work finished💜 So excited this art is home with her at last!

Our members get more and more talented each week! All sorts of great glazing techniques can be seen here like the use of custom washes, intricate painting, layering, blending, and allowing raw clay to be a part of the design. It’s amazing how every single person can transform their piece so beautifully and execute their vision! Glaze unloading day is the best day of the week💞

It’s a great, instructional class that focuses on introducing you to handbuilding techniques of pinching, slabbing, coiling, and glazing. This past Saturday was our 3rd Member Showcase🎉🥳! We are celebrating 3 years in this studio & get to show off what our members have created in the last year at the same time… dare we say…it’s the best time of the year😉! Our members put their favorite piece(s) on display while admiring other’s, plus we always have cake, ice cream, and good conversations for hours on end 👐 It’s a cherished tradition, only open to members and their families and friends due to space. We love everyone who came out to support another year slinging mud in the best studio around 🥰 Here’s to another revolution in the making!

The Great Owlology sculpture class this past weekend was a HOOT! 🦉 This was 3 days of in-depth instruction to sculpt their own owl-whimsical, realistic, quirky, functional… any style they wanted. And guess HOO did a great job? Absolutely everyone! The smiles alone should tell you what an awesome time we had 🙌
