It’s time for another Focused on Excellence spotlight! Congratulations to our next winner: Tania Zavala from Southwest Elementary School.

Tania is an ESOL paraeducator at Southwest Elementary.

“What I love most about my job and working for PCPS are the people I get to work alongside,” she said. “They are full of love, care, generosity, encouragement and knowledge. It's an honor that I can call them coworkers.”

This was the sixth year of our Focused on Excellence campaign, which recognizes the hard work and contributions of PCPS employees. Once again, employees were asked to nominate their colleagues from various departments for a chance to receive some great prizes, and be featured on our communication channels.

School is out, but children in Polk County can receive free meals through the statewide Summer BreakSpot program.

Locations throughout Polk will be providing free breakfast and lunch to children 18 and under.

IMPORTANT: Before you head out, check each site’s dates and hours of operation at summerbreakspot.org, not all locations have the same schedule. Please note that food must be consumed on site, take-home meals are not permitted.
