Do we REALLY have any concern for the generations that follow us?🧐

The reality of what’s happening for MS/HS students struggling to read brings tears to my eyes, particularly so when I think about those who look like me.

“Instead of teaching students to read, they had built a system that worked around the fact that they couldn’t.” —Reading Isn’t Optional. I see this NOW.😔

Prepping for three tutor sessions today. I’m doing what I can, wherever I can, to help students be literate.

I don’t CARE how much is given in the way of accommodations. If there is no instruction/practice provided, how are the gaps in knowledge filled in?

What IS the goal of our education system? Is it REALLY about the students?

Back from Savannah this morning and got two sessions in today anyway. Now I need a nap though.🤭🤭
