π Join us tomorrow, June 19, for a special Juneteenth Reflections event at the International Quilt Museum!
Malone's very own Kwame Gyamfi will lead a thought-provoking presentation, followed by a gallery talk hosted by Celeste Butler. Together, they'll explore the history, significance, and ongoing impact of Juneteenth through conversation, reflection, and art.
This meaningful event offers an opportunity to learn, connect, and honor the journey toward freedom and equality. We hope you'll join the community for an afternoon of education, dialogue, and reflection.

π The story of Juneteenth is one of perseverance, hope, and the enduring pursuit of freedom.
On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned they were free.
This day became known as Juneteenth and has since been recognized as a powerful reminder of both the promise of freedom and the importance of ensuring that freedom reaches everyone.
As we reflect on the significance of June 19, 1865, we honor the strength of those who endured, celebrate the progress that has been made, and recognize the work that continues to build a more just and equitable future.
π€ Join us this Saturday, June 20th from 12-3pm at Trago Park for our annual Juneteenth celebration!

π In recognition of Juneteenth, we will be closed on Friday, June 19.
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the day when the last enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas learned they were free - this was more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.
π€ It is a day to honor freedom, reflect on our nation's history, celebrate Black culture and achievements, and continue the work toward equity and opportunity for all.
We encourage everyone to take time to learn, reflect, and celebrate the significance of this important day. Join us for our annual Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 20th from 12-3pm at Trago Park!
