Today, we honor four longtime faculty members from the UNMC College of Dentistry Department of Oral Biology as they step down after a combined 115 years of service.

Their dedication to education, research and mentorship has left a lasting impact on the college, their colleagues and generations of students.

A new stained-glass installation is elevating the College of Dentistry atrium, bringing warmth and beauty to a space dedicated to education, patient care and advancing oral health.

Protecting Smiles Beyond the Clinic 🦷
Our West Division Dental Hygiene program provided care at Banner County Elementary and Minatare Elementary Schools this spring. Students and faculty provided sealants and fluoride treatments to 2nd-6th graders.

West Division DH3 students and faculty presented at the 2026 E-Learning Showcase on the development of their E-module titled "Toothbrushing Techniques and Self-Flossing: A Guide for Dental Hygiene Students."

This group was selected as the only College of Dentistry group for the 2025-2026 E-Learning Program.

Lt. Preston MacDonald, DDS, is looking forward to being "part of something bigger" as a Navy dentist.

The Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association chapter at the UNMC College of Dentistry used its first-ever grant this spring to participate in a University of Nebraska–Lincoln event focused on promoting oral health education.

“We were thrilled to receive that grant, as it gave us a new opportunity to educate college students on oral health,” said SADHA Treasurer Hannah Parsley.

UNMC College of Dentistry students recently volunteered at the Lincoln Asian Community and Cultural Center’s AAPI Heritage Celebration, connecting with community members through free dental screenings and oral health education.
