Millard Lefler Middle School opened its doors for the first time on September 12, 1955. Our school Our school is named after Mr.
Millard Lefler, a former assistant principal at Lincoln High and superintendent of schools from 1920 to 1948. During his tenure as superintendent, Mr. Lefler oversaw the implementation of the junior high school system, vocational training in the high schools, and adult education programs in the Lincoln Public Schools. Last week our School Improvement Leadership Team met to walk through our data from the 2025-2026 school year. Our 2025-2026 school story had so many celebrations around student achievement and school climate. We were also able to identify great growth opportunities for the 2026-2027 school year - the story continues!
We are grateful to have such a dedicated team of individuals committed to creating sustainable growth, fostering academic excellence, and supporting the holistic development of our school community. šš
Analyzing our data allows us to lean into what works and intentionally bridge the gaps for the future. Thank you to our leadership team for their insight and to our entire staff for their unwavering dedication to our mission. Go Lions!

Today, on National School Principals Day, we want to celebrate our principal, Michele Suiter.
In true Michele fashion, the day almost slipped by because she has been so busy celebrating and supporting everyone else around her. Since joining Lefler Middle School this year, Michele has embraced every challenge and opportunity with dedication, positivity, and heart.
Making the move from the Pacific Northwest to Nebraska is no small transition, but Michele has brought a fresh perspective to Lincoln Public Schools and Lefler while honoring the strong work and traditions already in place. She has tackled tough projects head-on and continually seeks ways to make great things even better for our students and staff.
Thank you, Michele, for your leadership and for all you do for Lefler every day. š¦š
