Congratulations to the 19 students who successfully earned their Black Belt promotions at our recent Black Belt Testing! This weekend, we awarded their official embroidered belts and rank certificates.
Among these outstanding martial artists, we are proud to recognize: Devin Barnes, Michelle Knapp and Brandon Hessheimer promoted to 2nd Degree Black Belt, Hien Nguyen promoted to 3rd Degree Black Belt and Jeff Koepke promoted to 4th Degree Black Belt and Master.
Participation trophies are common place for some sports and activities but an SMA Black Belt remains something that must be earned. The journey requires years of dedication, perseverance, discipline, and countless hours of training. Not everyone who starts martial arts becomes a Black Belt, and that's what makes this achievement so meaningful. The best things in life don't come easy.
At SMA we understand that a Black Belt is not the finish line. It is a milestone and a symbol that they student has built the habits, character, and mindset needed to continue growing. Serious students understand that earning a Black Belt is simply the beginning of a much deeper journey.
We are incredibly proud of each student who stepped onto the testing floor, demonstrated their skills, and proved they were ready for the next chapter. Congratulations on this well-earned accomplishment!
