This date, February 28 in 1998 was a significant day in my life ... my official retirement from IBM after a 30+ year career and the beginning of my pension. However, I returned after a weekend off to head up Y2K readiness for one of IBM's business units, staying on until March 19, 1999 because the next day was the 1st day of Spring and I was heading to the golf course. Since then, every day is Saturday
In October 1967, I joined the IBM Corporation as a Field Engineer. During my 30+ year career with IBM, I worked long-term at 11 locations in the NY/NJ area and short-term, temporarily, at more locations than I can count on more special assignments than I can remember ... IBM means I've Been Moved!
All those years, the people I worked with, those I managed and the customers I supported became an integral part of my life and I cherish the memories of the good times and the challenges!
I also want to thank my wife, Angela, who was my support, raising our daughter and handling all the things at home while I was working extremely long hours, taking "call outs" on nights and weekends and away on long business trips. You are my "rock" ... I love you💞
