Summer break is officially here, but our college counselors are still hard at work helping students take the next step toward college. More than 50 rising seniors kicked off their college journey with campus tours to UCSB and Cal State LA as part of our Summer Institute. As many students from the Class of 2027 stepped onto a college campus for the first time, our college counselors helped them envision themselves there and discover new possibilities.

Intern Spotlight: Fabian Soriano
After serving as a Peer Mentor in our College Success program, Fabian is continuing to build his professional experience through a hands-on internship opportunity created through our partnership with Para Los Niños as part of our Career Readiness program. Throughout the spring and into the summer, he has supported day-to-day projects while helping bring our upcoming summer programming to life.
From mentoring students to gaining real-world career experience, Fabian’s journey reflects the full-circle impact of investing in young people.

Daniela first connected with Fulfillment Fund as a high school student through YOLA, and now she's come full circle as a marketing intern on our team. A rising junior at Wesleyan University, Daniela is helping bring our stories to life through video content, social media projects, and the FFUniversity teaser that will premiere on Day 1 of this year's event.
Her love for film is evident in everything she creates, and we can't wait to see where her talent takes her next.

As a first generation college student, Florencio worried about how he would afford college and navigate the challenges ahead. With support, resources, and determination, he graduated from CSULA and is now a Mechanical Engineer at Gerhardt Gear Company.
Today, his success serves as a reminder to his younger sisters and countless other students that college, career success, and economic mobility are possible.

On Monday, we celebrated our Class of 2026 Student Ambassadors with games, dinner, and time together in the office before officially transitioning from our College Access team to our College Success team. We're so proud of this incredible group and can't wait to support them through their college journeys. 🎓✨

Starting college can be overwhelming, especially for first-generation students. Through our partnership with LACC, College Success Advisors Mauro and Keily provide on-campus, one-on-one support to help students stay connected, build confidence, and navigate their path to success.
