Congratulations to Class of ’89 Alum, Natalia Molina!

She has officially been named a 2026 Guggenheim Fellow! This monumental honor adds to her already stellar list of accolades, which includes being a MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship recipient.

Out of nearly 5,000 applicants worldwide, she joins an elite class of just 223 scholars, artists, and scientists chosen for this year's Guggenheim cohort.

We couldn't be prouder to see our alums reaching such incredible heights and shaping the future of American studies. Join us in celebrating Natalia's extraordinary achievements!

Immaculate Heart was honored to recently welcome the Junior League of Los Angeles for its annual Leadership Day. This half-day workshop brought together the League members who will guide the organization in the year ahead, strengthening their skills through collaboration and shared purpose.

As the Junior League approaches its centennial in 2026, its mission “to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training” closely reflects Immaculate Heart’s own commitment to educating women of great heart and right conscience. We are proud to celebrate the League’s enduring legacy of service and leadership across Los Angeles.

🌿 Restoring Habitats with Heart 🌿

Last week, several HS Pandas rolled up their sleeves to participate in one of our summer service-learning opportunities, Restoring Habitats with Heart. Throughout this five-day immersive program, students explored the importance of habitat restoration while working alongside local conservation organizations to protect vulnerable ecosystems and the plants and animals that depend on them.

From the Ballona Wetlands and Descanso Gardens to the Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy, Amigos de los Rios, and the Catalina Island Conservancy, our students collaborated with several important partners, learning that caring for the environment is another way of caring for one another and our shared future.

Last night, under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl, we celebrated the remarkable Class of 2026 as they crossed the stage and joined a proud legacy of Immaculate Heart alumnae. 🌟

The evening was made even more meaningful by an inspiring address from architect and IH alumna Monica Valtierra Day (‘78), who encouraged our graduates to lead with purpose and compassion. We were also moved by the heartfelt words of class speaker Tulia T., whose reflection captured the spirit, energy, and deep bonds of her class.

Surrounded by family, friends, faculty, and fellow Pandas, the Class of 2026 marked the culmination of their Immaculate Heart journey and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

Congratulations, graduates. You have left your mark upon our hearts, and we cannot wait to see where your paths lead next.

Once a Panda, Always a Panda 💙🐼
