Through an advanced academic program prioritizing biblical authority and local church discipleship, The Master’s Seminary trains men for pastoral ministry—to preach the Word of God, reach the world for Christ, and teach others to do the same.

When asked how God brought him to TMS, alumnus Travis Greene said, “Before coming to TMS, I was a youth minister in a charismatic evangelical church. When the church went through a season of turmoil, I began to ponder many theological questions: What does it look like to be a faithful shepherd? How does God speak to and lead His people? During this time, I found old Shepherds Conference messages that answered many of the questions I was asking. I became convicted that the way God speaks to His people is through His Word, and the task of a pastor is to give himself to prayer, the Word, and shepherding the flock.

These convictions began to be tested by trials in ministry. Amid these trials, one day, a pastor I was working with, Beau, received a call from someone at Master’s who wanted to invite us to Shepherds Conference to encourage us in ministry. This was totally unexpected because we were outsiders to Grace Church and TMS. But we came to Shepherds Conference 2020, and we were blown away by the hospitality and kindness we were shown, the preaching of the Word, and the relationships that we started to forge. Then COVID happened, and we were invited to TMU to meet with godly men who counseled us as we navigated choppy waters in ministry. From Dr. Chou to Dr. MacArthur, we were shown unbelievable hospitality and love. What astounded me most about TMU, TMS, and Grace Community Church was the Christian love I was shown as an outsider. I thought everyone would tell me to blast people out of the water who didn't share biblical convictions. But what I heard again and again was the need for patient teaching and love. Back in our church, the leadership determined that our newly formed convictions weren't fitting for ministry in that church, so they encouraged Beau and me to begin ministry elsewhere and contributed financially to that new work. On March 7, 2021, we first met as Christ Church Carpinteria.

Then, friends from TMS convinced us that we should go to seminary and be trained for ministry. I was a rather unlikely candidate for TMS five years ago. But God, in His providence, brought me here, and I could not be more thankful for the investment that's been made in me.”

Jonathan Edwards and the Necessity of Divine Sovereignty 06/18/2026

Within church history, the doctrine of God's sovereignty represents a continental divide between denominations and theologians. Indeed, few Christians have gone untouched by this discussion in one way or another. Jonathan Edwards was no exception. Read Justin Feland’s article on the TMS Blog.

This past month, we gathered to celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Master’s Seminary. It was a joyful evening of fellowship and reflection on God’s abundant faithfulness to TMS over the past four decades. We were deeply encouraged to see founding faculty, current leadership, ministry partners, graduates, and their families all join together for this special milestone.

The Making of an Expositor 06/05/2026

“Biblical exposition must begin with reverence for God. If you want to be an expositor, you must get the starting point right. In short, start and stay with God.” Read “The Making of an Expositor” on the TMS Blog.

The Making of an Expositor The journey to the pulpit begins with a deep reverence for God. The expositor must be saturated in the Word before he can ever preach it.
