When Misty Copeland first stepped onto the professional stage, she rarely saw anyone who looked like her.
Today, she's helping the next generation see themselves in places they may have never imagined.
During a recent visit with student artists, shared how the arts can inspire confidence, unlock creativity, and empower young people to dream bigger. Her story is a powerful reminder that representation mattersâand that when students are given opportunities to express themselves, their potential is limitless.
We're honored to support organizations like the that are opening doors, nurturing talent, and helping young people discover what's possible through the transformative power of the arts. â¨

đ¤What counts as learning?
For decades, Elliot Eisner challenged educators to think beyond test scores and traditional measures of achievement. đ
đŹHis groundbreaking research demonstrated that the arts cultivate essential forms of thinking and understanding that cannot be captured by standardized assessments alone.
Eisner's concept ofđ "forms of representation" helped establish a new understanding of literacyâone that values the many ways humans create meaning through visual art, music, dance, theater, and other artistic practices.
Today, his ideas continue to shape how we advocate for arts education as an essential part of every student's learning journey.
When an injury left wondering if she would ever dance again, she was forced to confront a heartbreaking question:
Who am I without dance?
For so many young people, the arts are more than an activityâthey're a source of confidence, identity, belonging, and hope. Yet every day, students face the possibility of losing access to the very programs that help them discover their potential.
Tiler's story is a powerful reminder of whatâs at stake when the arts are taken awayâand why ensuring access to arts education matters.
We're committed to helping young people experience the transformative power of the arts. If this mission speaks to you, we invite you to support our work and help keep creative opportunities within reach for the next generation.

đđArts education creates connection, confidence, and the audacity to take up space. Weâre grateful to celebrate artists who continue to champion and invest in the next generation of creative minds.đŻââ
For decades, Wynton Marsalis has been one of the artsâ most influential advocates for education â championing the idea that music and creativity are essential parts of a young personâs development, not optional ones.
Through his work with Jazz at Lincoln Center, he has helped bring jazz education to students around the world, creating opportunities for young people to experience the discipline, confidence, collaboration, and self-expression that arts education makes possible.
At Find Your Light Foundation, weâre proud to share a relationship rooted in that same belief: that access to the arts can transform lives and expand what students believe is possible for themselves.
Because arts education doesnât just create performers. It helps create curious minds, confident voices, and future leaders.
In this conversation, and reflect on the 2025 Find Your Light Foundation Benefit Gala and the shared belief at the heart of the evening: that every young person deserves access to an arts education.
Weâre grateful to the artists, educators, advocates, and supporters who continue to help expand access to creative opportunities for students everywhere.

đ¤What if education didnât separate creativity from critical thinkingâbut nurtured both equally?
Leonardo da Vinci understood something weâre still catching up to:
âTo develop a complete mind:
Study the science of art;
Study the art of science.
Learn how to see.
Realize that everything connects to everything else.â
How has arts education shaped the way you see the world?
Behind every young artist who finds their voice is someone who helped them believe it mattered. Creative mentorship can change the trajectory of a studentâs life â especially in the arts.
When students have the opportunity to learn from working artists, they gain more than technical skills. They gain confidence. Representation. Encouragement. A vision of whatâs possible for their future.
Programs like , that connect young people with professional broadway performers donât just create stronger artists â they create stronger communicators, collaborators, and leaders.
Thank you Broadway for Arts Education, for all you do!
Some of our most challenging â and most meaningful â work lies in reaching those who still underestimate the value of arts education. Helping illuminate its profound impact not only on academic achievement, but on human development, confidence, empathy, and the ability to imagine new possibilities is what it is all about!
