Looking back, every part of the struggle shaped the work I do. It gave me empathy, grit, lots of humor, and a deep understanding of what transformation can look like, continually unfolding, more and more with faith.
Building a mission statement is powerful- know why you are driven for your cause. Have faith, trust God, trust your gut, and let your passion lead you to your people. Go where the love is. Mentors are everything — seek them, listen to them, let them change you. Partnership and cooperation will take you further than anything you could build alone. Say less, listen more, and double your self-care. Compassion for others starts with compassion for yourself- being a mess to find your message – it’s ok to remain a work in progress. Gratitude for all the blessings and miracles create more. And when I am puzzled and spiraling, know that I have “smart feet” to lead me back toward a spiritual solution.
