We believe that health care is a basic human right and that everyone deserves high-quality, affordable, comprehensive health care. Health care is a human right.

Our mission is to educate and advocate for health care reform in order to achieve guaranteed, high quality, comprehensive and equally accessible care for all. While PNHP California supports efforts to help all people obtain health care, we work to establish a publicly financed, non-profit single-payer health care system in California and the nation.

Your health matters and preventive screenings can help detect problems early, often before symptoms appear. 💙

From blood pressure and cholesterol checks to diabetes, cancer, and mental health screenings, staying on top of your preventive care is one of the best ways to protect your long-term health and well-being. Early detection can lead to better treatment outcomes, healthier lifestyle choices, and greater peace of mind.

Many preventive screenings are covered through insurance, making it easier to stay proactive about your care. Talk with your doctor about which screenings are right for you based on your age, medical history, and risk factors.

Prevention today can make a difference for your future health.

After you enroll in Covered California, the next step is making sure you choose a Primary Care Provider (P*P) within your health plan’s network. Your P*P will be your go-to doctor for checkups, referrals, and managing your overall health. Start by checking which health plan you were enrolled in, browse their provider directory to find a doctor near you, and schedule your first visit once your coverage begins.
