May was one heaven of a month.

Couple of shows. Couple of new cities/states. Couple of ball games. Couple of back-to-back run days. Couple of big ass sunflowers. A LOT of new friends.

2026 marks 30 years since the Couch to 5K training schedule was born on the internet. It's been exactly a decade since the NHS formally incorporated C25K as a solution for physical inactivity in the UK.

C25K was built by Josh Clark. He didn't know that 9 weeks is the perfect length of time to build a habit. He didn't know that millions of people would go on to use his training schedule to start moving their bodies.

A self-confessed running nerd and web nerd, he just wanted to create a way for his community to fall in love with running the same way that he had. He built a system to start running that his mother could follow comfortably.

If running culture is peaking, having expanded from being a fringe activity to being an activity tens of millions take part in on a daily basis, C25K has been essential in that transformation.

For the penultimate date on the Off Track Gravel Tour with Salomon, I'm on my way to Columbus, Ohio, where the founding members of Rascal Flatts grew up.
