Incoming 6th graders are invited to take part in this summerโs reading challenge with The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. As students read, they will follow Miloโs journey and think about how his interactions with different characters help shape the story and move the plot forward. Students can access the book through myPascoConnect and Beanstack, or by reading a physical copy.
The challenge is to track Miloโs journey by completing a Character Interaction Entry through Beanstack for each important character he meets. For each character, students should think about who Milo meets, what happens during their interaction, how the interaction moves the story forward, and what impact the character has on Milo. This is a great way for students to read, explore, and connect with the story while preparing for 6th grade.
