In Loving Memory of Ryan Benke
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of former Warrior and longtime member of the Steinbrenner and Sand Sharks family, Ryan Benke.
Ryan was part of our 2022 class and spent many years growing up within our program. Whether on the field, in the locker room, or alongside his teammates, he represented the values that make this community special, commitment, friendship, perseverance, and character.
After graduation, Ryan continued his journey of service by joining the United States Air Force, where he proudly served his country while stationed in Arkansas.
Ryan’s loss is deeply felt throughout our lacrosse family. Our hearts are with his mother, Pam, his father, Eric, his family, friends, teammates, coaches, and all those whose lives were touched by his kindness, spirit, and friendship.
Once a Warrior, always a Warrior.

🚨 BIG Changes Coming for High School Athletics in 2026-2027
The new High School Student Athletic Procedures & Student Forms are now available, and one of the biggest updates for the 2026-2027 school year is the new ECG screening requirement for student athletes.
Effective July 1, 2026:
All first-time high school participants in FHSAA athletics must complete an Electrocardiogram (ECG) screening before participation, even if the student has no cardiac symptoms.
An ECG completed within the last 2 years prior to participation will satisfy the requirement.
If additional evaluation is needed, the student must be cleared by a licensed medical practitioner trained in ECG diagnosis and management before participating in practices, tryouts, workouts, or competition.
Parents and student athletes should start preparing early to avoid delays before the school year and sports season begin.
