🦟 Bug Bites: When to Worry

Mosquitoes and other insects are part of summer fun—but it’s important to know what’s normal and what isn’t.

Most bug bites cause mild redness, swelling, and itching that improve within a few days. It’s also common for children to have larger reactions than adults, especially with mosquito bites.

However, spreading redness, fever, drainage, increasing pain, or swelling that continues to worsen could be signs that your child should be evaluated.

A little itch is usually normal. Knowing when a bite needs medical attention can help keep summer adventures safe and worry-free. 💜

Have mosquitoes found your family yet this summer? Let us know below! ⬇️

😴☀️ Summer break is in full swing… but sleep shouldn’t take a vacation!

We know summer often brings later bedtimes, sleeping in, and a break from the usual routine. While a little flexibility is perfectly okay, quality sleep is still essential for growing bodies and minds.

A consistent sleep routine can help children:
✨ Feel happier and more rested
✨ Improve focus and attention
✨ Support healthy growth and development
✨ Keep their immune systems strong

💜 Has bedtime shifted at your house since school let out? Tell us in the comments!

Traveling this summer? ✈️☀️
Don’t forget to pack a pediatric travel kit before you head out on your family adventures! 🧳💜

Be prepared for the unexpected with:
💊 Fever reducer
🩹 Bandages + antibiotic ointment
🌡 Thermometer
🤧 Antihistamine

Because sick kiddos and minor accidents don’t take summer vacations. 😉

Pro tip: Keep all medications in your carry-on or an easy-to-reach travel bag!

Safe travels from your friends at Pediatric Wizards 🧙✨

Water fun and safety go hand in hand!
Always keep a close eye on children near pools, lakes, beaches, and even bathtubs. Drowning can happen quickly and silently.

💦 Water Safety Reminders:
• Never leave children unattended near water
• Use properly fitted life jackets
• Designate a “water watcher”
• Learn CPR
• Teach kids to swim early

A safe summer is the best summer! 🩵

National Start Over Day: Parent Edition 💜

Not because we’d change a thing about our kids…
But because we’d love a do over on a few moments. 😂
Finish this sentence:
“If I had a START OVER button today, I’d use it when_________.” 👇😂

Hot weather + outdoor play can raise the risk of dehydration in kids. ☀️💧

Offer water before they feel thirsty, pack a water bottle wherever you go, and watch for signs like dry lips, low energy, or dark urine.

Try to limit sugary sports drinks — for most kids, water is the best choice!
