Our Summer Learning Academy scholars are getting their hands dirty and growing their knowledge! 🌼🐝🌿

This week, scholars learned how to plant a pollinator flower garden, discovering the important role that bees, butterflies, and other pollinators play in our environment. Through hands-on learning, they are developing a deeper appreciation for nature while helping create a beautiful habitat that supports local wildlife.

We can't wait to watch their garden bloom! 🌸✨

Last Thursday, our SLA scholars proudly celebrated Juneteenth through learning, reflection, and meaningful activities that honored the history, resilience, and achievements of African Americans.

We are grateful for the opportunity to help our scholars connect with the significance of this important day while celebrating freedom, culture, and community.

Happy Juneteenth! Dr. Shawn Boyd is a nationally recognized educator, author, speaker, and student success expert whose mission is to help students build the knowledge, confidence, and leadership skills necessary to thrive in high school, college, and beyond. From delivering commencement addresses to speaking at educational innovation conferences across the country, Dr. Boyd has dedicated his career to empowering young people to reach their full potential.

Through the Memphis Merit College & Career Readiness Program, our 8th-grade scholars will engage in experiences designed to:
