This morning as I was reflecting & journaling I received this thought & I’ll share with you.
You do not have to force every answer. Some clarity comes when you become still enough to hear yourself. ❤️❤️
Have an amazing day!

Last month, I had a conversation with the women that attended Self Care Saturday. I’ll share those thoughts here. Maybe I’ll free someone.
“We should not use prayer & church to avoid therapy.” Is exactly what I said.
There are people walking around right now who desperately need professional support but have been afraid to seek it. Why? Because along the way, they were taught that the Pastor was the answer or that they could simply pray about it & all will work out.
Therapy was not embraced in my family in generations before mine. It wasn’t a conversation we had at our dinner table or mentioned at any social gatherings. It simply wasn’t done.
I made a different choice. I found several licensed therapists at different times on my journey, because I realized there were things I could not heal without the right support.
This isn’t a post about bashing the church. But conveying that, in my experience, attending church regularly & pursuing therapy are not in conflict. One does not replace the other both can exist.
I’ll also add what I said in our self care session last month. “A lot of the ministry leaders we are in community with, look up to, & serve with probably need therapy too. Whether they admit it or not.”
There is definitely enough professional support available for all of us.
Self Care Always! ❤️❤️

You are allowed to be unavailable while you pour back into yourself. You cannot pour from an empty cup. 🕯️

There’s a quiet moment on Sundays
where everything slows down just enough for you to hear yourself.
Don’t rush past it.
Sit with what’s been on your mind.
Anything that’s been weighing on you.
What you’ve been avoiding.
You don’t have to solve it today.
Just acknowledge it.
