It's watermelon season! đ
We love teaching all the children we support how to eat watermelon â well, maybe not the newborns, but 6+ months and up, absolutely!
There are so many great ways to interact with watermelon. You can cut it, or use little stamps to press shapes out of it, turning it into a fun puzzle.
You can mash it, juice it, or freeze it into popsicles. You can eat it with your hands, a fork, or a spoon.
It's a great tool for oral-motor development too. Watermelon cut with a thicker rind helps build jaw strength and biting skills. Thin, french fryâstyle pieces are great for side chewing and back molar activation. Small bits are perfect for practicing how to suck out the juice and then chew the fiber.
We love watermelon, do you?

The more we try to control, the less we show we TRUST
Control â trust
Control creates tension
Trust makes room for partnership
03/17/2026
A parent once told us:
âIf they enjoy my child, Iâll trust them.â
That changed everything for us.
Families do not only notice your credentials.
They notice your presence.
Your energy.
Your comfort.
Your connection.
Sometimes trust begins there.

In this conversation, we introduce a three-question diagnostic tool designed to uncover family dynamics and build stronger therapeutic partnerships:
1ď¸âŁ Describe your child in three words.
2ď¸âŁ Summarize the challenge in one sentence.
3ď¸âŁ Imagine the âgraduationâ moment â what does success look like?
These simple questions surface hope, reveal capacity, and clarify expectations â helping clinicians move beyond a child-only focus toward sustainable, family-centered progress.
Because real change does not happen in a 45-minute session.
It happens at home.
And when parents are seen, heard, and partnered with intentionally, outcomes improve â and so does the clinicianâs experience of the work.
Watch the full conversation to explore how strengthening parent partnership can transform both therapy and long-term results.
