What happens when doctoral scholarship meets real-world impact?
This infographic was developed by DAT student Summer Blunden as part of her Applied Research Project (ARP) exploring the role of psychological safety in athletic training education, mentorship, and patient care. Her work highlights how trust, open communication, and supportive learning environments contribute to stronger learners, more effective teams, and better patient outcomes.
We're proud to share that Summer has also translated this work into a continuing education course, Mentors, Mentees, and Psychological Safety: Unlocking High-Trust Athletic Training Relationships, now available through the AT-PBRN.

Proud moment! π₯ΉππΌ
Congratulations to alumna Dr. Lacy Chapel and her advisor Dr. Tamara McLeod on the publication of her applied research project examining prescribed aerobic exercise and sport-related concussion recovery.
This work highlights the growing role of active rehabilitation and evidence-informed care in improving patient outcomes after concussion.
One of the best parts of the DAT journey is seeing scholarly work move beyond the classroom and contribute to advancing clinical practice.
We're excited to see this important work shared with the profession! πππββοΈπ§
