When a family emergency became a life-or-death situation, Sara Cisneros was ready. The West Mesquite High School graduate relied on skills she learned in Mesquite ISD's Health Science program to help save her young niece during a choking emergency. That experience strengthened her commitment to a future dedicated to helping others.

🎉 Rugel Elementary School is welcoming a new assistant principal!

Esseiny Alanis joins Mesquite ISD, bringing a decade of experience in both general and bilingual education. She most recently served as a third-grade bilingual reading teacher at Eddie Bernice Johnson STEM Academy.

Prior to her time at Eddie Bernice Johnson STEM Academy, Ms. Alanis taught math and science at Manara STEM Academy. Earlier in her career, she served in Dallas ISD as a bilingual reading demo teacher, reading instructional coach, and campus facilitator.

Ms. Alanis earned a Bachelor of Science in Bilingual Education from Texas Woman’s University and a Master of Business Administration in International Business from Texas A&M International University.

🎉 After 15 years of serving Mesquite ISD students and families, Tamica Riley is taking the next step in her leadership journey as assistant principal at J.R. Thompson Elementary!

Tamica Riley currently serves as a student success liaison at Smith Elementary. She spent the first 10 years of her career as a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher at Galloway Elementary.

Ms. Riley has been awarded two grants from the Mesquite ISD Education Foundation and recently completed MISD’s Aspiring Assistant Principal Program.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and a Master of Arts in Communication from Stephen F. Austin State University, as well as a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

🎉 Please join us in welcoming Jeremy Aldanese-Wells to Mesquite ISD as the new assistant principal at Range Elementary!

Jeremy Aldanese-Wells brings more than 15 years of experience in public education and currently serves as an assistant principal in Frisco ISD. Prior to his current role, he served as a district literacy coach in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD and a district instructional coach in Denton ISD, supporting instructional excellence and teacher development across multiple campuses.

Mr. Aldanese-Wells holds a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and a Master of Education in educational leadership from the University of North Texas.

🎉 Please join us in congratulating Kassidy Siragusa as she begins a new chapter in her Mesquite ISD journey as assistant principal at Galloway Elementary!

Kassidy Siragusa has served Mesquite ISD for eight years and currently teaches second grade at Price Elementary, where she serves in several campus leadership roles, including grade-level chair, PACE mentor, K–2 vertical alignment leader, and Data-to-Action math facilitator. She began her career as a 2nd and 3rd-grade teacher at Thompson Elementary, where she was named Teacher of the Year in 2021.

Ms. Siragusa is an ETIP Scholar and completed Mesquite ISD’s Aspiring Assistant Principal program. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University–Commerce.

🎉 Floyd Elementary School is welcoming a new assistant principal! Please join us in welcoming Elida Gil to Mesquite ISD and the Floyd campus community.

Elida Gil comes to us from Garland ISD, where she served as an elementary instructional support teacher. She previously served as a dual language teacher, LPAC lead teacher and curriculum support teacher for GISD, where she earned Teacher of the Year honors in 2022. She also served as the Bilingual/ESL Pre-K Summer School facilitator in 2025 and 2026.

Ms. Gil holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Texas at Dallas and a Master of Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.
