⚾ Take me out to the ballgame! ⚾
The FIU Embrace Residential students had an unforgettable evening at loanDepot park as they cheered on the Miami Marlins and enjoyed all the excitement of a live baseball game! From the energy of the crowd and the sights and sounds of the stadium to sharing laughs with friends, this outing was about more than baseball—it was about building community, creating memories, and practicing self-awareness in a real-world environment.
As part of our Residential Life experience, students completed a Game Day Reflection focused on recognizing their emotions, sensory experiences, and strategies that helped them feel comfortable throughout the event. Students reflected on everything from crowd noise and stadium lights to favorite moments and tools that supported a positive experience. These opportunities help foster self-advocacy, independence, and confidence while having fun in the community. 🧡💙
A special highlight of the evening was seeing students connect with one another outside of campus, strengthening friendships and enjoying a true South Florida experience together.
At FIU Embrace, learning happens everywhere—even at the ballpark!
