Our Middle School Science Fair puts student curiosity on full display. From marble roller coasters demonstrating velocity and friction to botany experiments testing water acidity, students in both physical and life sciences brought their STEM learning to life.

With AI being such a hot topic, our Head of School recently wrote about this technology in Upper East Side Living magazine. In her article, "A Balancing Act: The Human and AI Sides of Change," Dr. Balseiro explores how Cushman is navigating the AI era by keeping inquiry-based learning, character development, and the human connection at the center of education.

Industry, Courtesy, Responsibility, and Scholarship are the four pillars our founder Dr. Laura Cushman established over a century ago, and they continue to shape the character of every student. This group of students embodied those values every single day of the 2025–2026 school year. 💙

Twice a year, we honor our high school students who receive National Honor Society (NHS) accolades. This past May, we held the most recent ceremony in the Elementary pavilion to celebrate new inductees and applaud our NHS award recipients. These individuals showcased remarkable achievements not just in academics but also through various service outreach initiatives and participation in international organizations and competitions.⁠

We are so proud of multi-generation Cushman alumna, Cushman educator, and Gold Medal Olympic athlete, Shirley Stobs Davis, for receiving this much-deserved recognition... On Wednesday, June 3rd, the competition pool at Miami Shores Aquatic Center was dedicated to her by - The Shirley Stobs Davis Competition Pool.

Shirley was an Olympic swimmer who won the Gold Medal at the 1960 Olympics in Rome. She was also a member of our Cushman faculty in various roles making a difference for students for over five decades, a dedicated mother, and continues to be an ongoing inspiration to us all.

Former Cushman Head of School, Dr. Joan Lutton, and current Cushman Head, Dr. Arvi Balseiro, attended the event with many other family members and friends from The Cushman School.

With the 2025-26 school year just wrapped, and the theme of that year being CREATING and CAPTURING SPECIAL MOMENTS, a shout out to our Cushman Photographer/Yearbook Producer for delivering us this keepsake that depicts some of the JOYOUS moments of the Cushman experience!
