If they're important to you, they're important! And you can do them, even when they're hard.
Repeat after me: I can do hard things 📣

POV: I recorded some async content for my clients today! Reflection isn't always easy, but it can tell us a lot (especially about where we want to go).
If you joined in... What did you notice?

Oh, the thinks you can think! In the work I do with helping-professionals, the same pattern comes up all the time: People start labeling themselves.
"I'm bad at boundaries."
"I'm not organized enough."
"I'm just an anxious person."
"I'm a people pleaser who doesn't say 'no'."
But when we slow down and look closer, we don’t need to turn these labels into an identity.
We instead need to notice: It's a pattern.
And patterns can change.
The story you tell yourself about who you are is often much harder to change than the behavior itself.
Maybe you don't need a new label.
Maybe you just need a new next step.

This week, we've been talking a lot about labels. Throwing a different spin today because this little man earned a new label: prek graduate!
And let's be honest... That confident as hell walk? I'm taking notes.
My label here is proud aunt!
No reframes needed on these 😉

I didn't have to try to change my thoughts, or try to force them to sound "positive". All I did was find a different label to address the same story.
This is what that looked like for me today:
I'm not good enough to do this -> I'm learning how to do this
I feel guilty for not reading this entire journal article top to bottom -> I'm being efficient in finding the info I need
I'm not being thorough enough -> I'm exploring new things without having to follow rigid rules
I'm weird for typing up the labels I'm noticing in my thoughts -> I'm authentic & I'm doing the same work I teach to my clients
I'm procrastinating, so I must be a procrastinator -> I'm being flexible by balancing completion of all the different things that are important to me
What's a label your thoughts are pushing on you, and what can you reframe it to instead?
That label your thought’s trying to give you is “just” in your head... And it's okay to leave it there!
If you try to fight the label, you end up entangled with it. Instead, you can let the thought happen, but you don’t have to give it your focus.
I can talk about this all day… and usually I do 😉
DM me if you want to chat more about how to remove entanglement from your “label”

We’re surrounded by labels. And I don’t mean the ones on our clothes. In my work with professionals like you, we often focus on noticing patterns.
The same theme comes up for many people: they often describe themselves through labels that are keeping them stuck.
This reminds me of a One Tree Hill episode from 2007 (yes, almost 20 years ago!).
So… here's my 2026 re-creation of it.
The lesson of the episode was: “People are gonna label you; it's how you overcome those labels. That's what matters.”
But the reality is that it's not just other people that label us. We label ourselves, too.
I don’t recommend that you try to remove the labels. It’s like the tagless labels that are permanently part of your shirts. The labels are there, but you don’t have to pay attention to them.
You don’t have to succumb to the labels. Remember: “It’s how you overcome the labels. That’s what matters.”
