At its regular monthly work session and meeting on June 2, 2026, the Chesterfield County Public School Board received updates on prekindergarten and CECLA programs, food and nutrition services, gifted education, and finances. The board also recognized outstanding gifted, visual arts, and performing arts teachers, bus drivers, and community partner Girls on the Run. In other actions, the board expanded bereavement leave, addressed FY 2026 year-end funds, and reviewed reports on budgets, retirement programs, gifted education, and prekindergarten.

Roll Call for the Annual VA PTA Meeting: PRESENT!

✅ voted on important amendments and listened to debates, such as why it is important to fund our schools.

✅heard guest speakers such as The VA Secretary of Education
✅ Met with other local volunteers

The annual meeting is a great way to spend a Saturday for those who are persistent about advocating for our children and schools!

🥪 Chesterfield County Public Schools offers free summer meals for children. At 20 sites, free breakfasts and lunches will be available Monday through Thursday from June 23 through July 17, unless other dates are specified. Sites will be closed July 2.

These sites are open to all children who are 1-18 years old. Meals are first come, first served and are the same for all children. Children must remain on-site while eating their meals.
