Sight word bingo
Today was assessment day, and Serenity did amazing! β€οΈ
She now knows all of her letter sounds, numbers, number order, quantities, colors, and shapes. She can identify a few sight words and is currently working on blending sounds together to create words. Sheβs also developing her reading comprehension skills.
Serenity has grown so much during her time with us, and I am truly amazed by the progress she has made. Watching her confidence and skills develop has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. π§ πβ¨

Our babies learned about the life cycle of a butterfly, but they also got to experience it firsthand!
They were so excited.
some of them were a little scared of the butterflies, I think the best part of this lesson was being able to watch each stage of the life cycle happen right before our eyes from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly. π¦π

Riley is out of school and came in with her fresh uniform on, ready to do one-on-one lessons with our preschoolers.
Riley is my niece, but sheβs also a former student here at our daycare. I literally taught her everything from spelling and writing her name to reading words.
β€οΈ Proud aunt moment! Itβs amazing to see her giving back and helping our newest Brain Builders learn. ππΎπβ¨

We are still exploring our Bug Unit this week! πππ¦
Today, the children participated in a bug identification and coloring activity where they were encouraged to color each bug its correct color. This may seem simple but this activity supported much more than art skills.
As the children worked, they practiced following directions, identifying colors, recognizing different insects, and recalling information they learned during our bug lessons. For example, children learned that bees are typically yellow and black, ladybugs are red with black spots, and grasshoppers are green.
Activities like this help children strengthen their memory, observation skills, attention to detail, and fine motor development while making connections between what they learn in the classroom and the world around them. When they see these insects outside, they can recognize them and remember what they learned.
