Today we share the news that Mr. Markiewicz will be leaving St. Josaphat to begin a new chapter in his professional journey after 14 years as a beloved and deeply respected member of our faculty.

Throughout his time at St. Josaphat, he became an icon of our middle school program, working tirelessly to bring out the best in every student entrusted to his care. He maintained high standards in his classroom and fostered a respectful learning environment rooted in accountability, growth, and genuine care for students.

Mr. Markiewicz will be missed beyond measure, and we are grateful for the countless lives he has impacted through his dedication and service to our school community.

Please take a moment to read his heartfelt message to SJPS families below.

St. Josaphat Family,

I want to thank you for your many years of trust and support, both as your child's teacher and in your thoughts and prayers over the last year.

This year was a hard one for me. There was fear and excitement when my mother learned she had a match that allowed her to go forward with her bone marrow transplant in August. When she needed to go back into the hospital in January, no one thought it would be the beginning of her end.

Through all of this, coming to school and seeing your children learn helped me keep going through a very tough time.

As the year has wound down, I see over and over that I need to take time to let myself feel my grief that I didn't during the school year. God has shown me that I need to take some rare time for myself. I'm not sure what He has in store for me in the future but know that I will carry the memories I've made at St. Josaphat's with me for the rest of my life.

Thank you for the many years of joy, care, and laughter. You will be in my prayers.

Mr. Markiewicz

What a wonderful day of faith and fellowship! Today, the SJPS-MI (Militia of the Immaculata โ€“ Army for Mary) visited two area schools, St. Vincent Pallotti and John Paul II, to share a special presentation about St. Maximilian Kolbe and the Miraculous Medal. Students learned about St. Kolbeโ€™s inspiring life, enjoyed fun games, and received Miraculous Medals to take home. Thank you to everyone who helped make these visits so memorable!

Today, our 8th-grade class enjoyed their end-of-the-year trip to Lapham Peak for a cookout and time spent exploring the beauty of nature throughout the expansive park. The adventure continued with a visit to Cave of the Mounds, where students experienced one of Wisconsinโ€™s natural wonders firsthand. They are expected to return to school around 5:45 p.m.โ€”safe, sound, and full of new insights and memories from a wonderful day together!

Tomorrow is an exciting day at SJPS! Our K5 Graduation begins with a family breakfast at 8:00 a.m., followed by the graduation ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Afterward, our K4 students will celebrate with their annual Balloon Party. Following the festivities, all kindergarten students will head off with their families to begin their summer break!

We will also gather for our Sacred Heart of Jesus Processional (Grades 1โ€“8) at 2:30 p.m. as we continue celebrating our faith-filled school community.

Congratulations to our youngest graduates as they take this exciting next step in their educational journey!
