Groß und klein, stimmt doch ein -- Kinderfest ist froh und fein!
On Monday, June 8, the MGIS playground was filled with smiles, laughter, and fun as students celebrated Kinderfest! From face painting and games to obstacle courses and snacks, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you to our amazing volunteers for making this beloved tradition possible, and congratulations to our students on a fantastic 2025–2026 school year!

Some members of the MGIS Class of 2019 -- now the graduating class of 2026 -- returned to MGIS in their caps and gowns for a special visit.
From left to right: Anika, Maxx, Leah, Hailey, Daniel, Ben, Phinlee, and Brady.
It seems like just yesterday they were walking our halls as elementary students, and now they're getting ready for their next adventure!
Congratulations! We are so proud of you and can't wait to see what comes next.

What better way to celebrate a year of reading than with pizza in the courtyard? On Wednesday, our 4th and 5th Grade Battle of the Books teams gathered to celebrate their hard work and accomplishments!
Back in February, students worked to answer challenging questions about 20 books they had read for this year's competition. We are especially proud of our State Team - Lennox, Aubrey, Tristan, and Henrik, who finished tied for 16th place out of 255 teams statewide!
During Wednesday's celebration, students once again put their literary knowledge to the test, competing to identify book titles and authors from this year's reading list.
5th Grade Winners
🥇 Lennox & Aubrey
🥈 Tristan & Henrik
4th Grade Winners
🥇 Noah & Jack
🥈 Hazel & Quinn
Their commitment, teamwork, and enthusiasm for reading made this year's Battle of the Books a tremendous success. Congratulations to all of our participants for an incredible year of reading, learning, and friendly competition!

Meet our newest staff member: Principal Evyn!
Evyn earned the coveted "Principal for a Day" Fun Run incentive and spent Wednesday shadowing Herr Templin to learn what it takes to run a school. From helping with daily responsibilities to getting a behind the scene look at what actually happens during a school day, she embraced every part of the role with enthusiasm and professionalism.
We think she did an outstanding job and has a bright future in school administration ahead of her!

On Thursday, May 21, MGIS Green Team students from 1st - 5th grade attended this year’s MPS STEAM Fair at Vincent High School.
Students proudly presented their projects, participated in science activities, and explored Vincent’s agriculture wing. A favorite part of the day was meeting all of the animals housed at the school.
The biggest highlight, however, was one of our 5th grade teams earning 2nd place for their project on memory. Congratulations to Bea, Tegan, and Astrid — we are so proud of your hard work and accomplishment!
