We are proud to introduce a brand new Turning the Tide Award, honoring a remarkable Champion School that demonstrated outstanding growth and commitment by rising two levels from Bronze to Gold, truly embodying what it means to turn the tide for the Everglades. Congratulations to Veterans Memorial Elementary Schooly in Collier County Public School District!

This school shifted their culture towards environmental stewardship and excellence by engaging all staff, administration, students, and families in their efforts to excel in Everglades education. They hosted an inaugural Everglades week that was championed by the efforts of their Everglades Student Ambassadors, engaged students in impactful field experiences across the western Everglades, and brought Everglades learning into related arts utilizing Minecraft and Ozobots.
