What is Evan most excited about this season?
“Cheering on the ‘Dores and spending time with the new SOG.”

What goals does Evan have for this season?
“Help the ensemble be as strong as possible and foster an environment where everyone grows.”

Favorite thing about the Spirit of Gold?
“The close relationships formed throughout the season.”

Why did Evan join the Spirit of Gold?
“I love music, and getting to be a part of something bigger, especially at Vanderbilt, feels very rewarding.”

A 2-year member of the Spirit of Gold, Avery is a rising sophomore at Vanderbilt University studying Architecture & the Built Environment and Communications.

What is Avery most excited about this season?
“I am most excited to make new memories and connections with our members this upcoming season!”

What goals does Avery have for this season?
“One of my goals is to meet more people and tie our band to the Nashville community.”

Favorite thing about the Spirit of Gold?
“One of my favorite things about the band is the Spirit in the Spirit of Gold! Our members have such a passion for supporting Vanderbilt Athletics.”

Why did Avery join the Spirit of Gold?
“I loved being a part of a band family in high school and I wanted to do the same on a larger scale in college.”

Angel is a rising senior at Belmont University studying Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience. A 4-year member of the Spirit of Gold, Angel is a member of the Piccolo Section and has previously served as a member of TBΣ-HΦ’s Executive Board.

What is Angel most excited about this season?
“I’m most excited to experience my last season and celebrate an amazing football team.”

Favorite thing about the Spirit of Gold?
“Seeing all the members. I love to be around everyone and see them having fun and enjoying the season.”

Why did Angel join the Spirit of Gold?
“I love marching band and I wanted to continue marching as long as I could.”

Our next featured leader is Drumline and Bass Drum Section Leader, Kate Boothe!
Kate is a rising senior at Vanderbilt University studying Integrative Biology and Anthropology. A 4-year member of the Spirit of Gold, Kate has served as both the Drumline and Bass Drum Section Leaders for the Spirit of Gold and Dore Slam since 2024.

What is Kate most excited about this season?
“Game days with the Spirit of Gold!”

What goals does Kate have for this season?
“To continue growing and improving the drumline and also as an individual player.”

Favorite thing about the Spirit of Gold?
“All of the relationships I’ve gained throughout my time at Vandy

Our next featured leader is Piccolo Section Leader, Beth Johns!
Beth is a rising senior at Belmont University studying Psychological Science with a minor in Christian Leadership. A 4-year member of the Spirit of Gold, Beth previously served as TBΣ-HΦ Parliamentarian.

What is Beth most excited about this season?
“I am most excited to make new friendships and new memories, while also getting back into football season and celebrating more Vandy wins!”

What goals does Beth have for this season?
“My biggest goal for this season is to help cultivate the culture of SOG that we love, being supportive, motivated, excited, and pouring into the SOG family!”

Favorite thing about the Spirit of Gold?
“My favorite thing about the Spirit of Gold, is how much the band has truly become a home away from home that I look forward to. College can be hard, and when classes and work feel mundane, I get to be excited about coming to practice, going to games, learning new music & drill, and spending time with some of the sweetest people who bring me so much joy!”

Why did Beth join the Spirit of Gold?
“I knew I wanted to march in college in general, because I loved how much of a community, I found in my high school band and wanted to find that here too! If you asked me a few years ago why I wanted to join SOG it would’ve been because I love marching, but I can say going into my last year I truly love the band and can’t imagine any different!”

A 3-year member of the Spirit of Gold, Annette is a rising junior at Vanderbilt University studying Music Composition and Mathematics with minors in Saxophone and Computer Science.

A 2-year member of the Spirit of Gold, Natalie is a rising sophomore at University studying Media and Entertainment Industries.

What is Natalie most excited about this season?
“To spin and watch some SEC football!”

What goals does Natalie have for this season?
“For the colorguard to improve and grow as a team alongside the rest of SOG.”

Favorite thing about the Spirit of Gold?
“It gives you the opportunity to meet so many different people from all over Nashville.”

Why did Natalie join the Spirit of Gold?
“Because I love colorguard! and I wanted to continue spinning and expect what it was like at a college level.”

“I'm most excited to see how far Vanderbilt Football will go this season and for us (SOG) being there to watch!”

“My favorite thing about Spirit of Gold is all the connection you make during the season.”

Why did Joseph join the Spirit of Gold?
“As someone that was in Front Ensemble I joined SOG to try something new (marching) and of course to watch SEC football!!”
