In May, Little Gate's Sarah Noland and Lydia Witte, along with Pre-K's Camille Greenberg, traveled to Reggio Emilia, Italy, to study the Reggio Emilia philosophy at its source. As part of a study group organized by the North American Reggio Emilia Alliance (NAREA), they participated in school visits, workshops at the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre, and conversations with educators from around the world. This learning opportunity was made possible through the Peggy McGehee Wisdom Distinguished Faculty Program, established through the generosity and legacy of Adelaide Wisdom Benjamin '50.

Students, faculty, trustees, donors, and our architecture and construction partners gathered on April 29th to celebrate the upcoming renovation of the Janet Wallace Yancey '23 Auditorium and construction of a new entryway and front office.

This project is the first phase of McGehee's Campus Master Plan, which was developed and will now be implemented after years of study and community input. This investment in McGehee's campus and future is funded entirely through charitable contributions.

McGehee's Class of 2026 graduated on Thursday, May 21, in the school's timeless tradition of long pink dresses. The Class of 2029 began the ceremony by carrying in the daisy chain they made for the seniors. Student Body President Julia Mahfouz welcomed guests, and Valedictorians Zoey Bergeron and Sam Scalise gave valedictory addresses, with a class reflection from Class President Juliana Elias. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

Sophomores wrapped up English II with a creative project inspired by Walden by Henry David Thoreau. Students designed personalized journals exploring the themes and ideas from the novel while making connections to their own lives.
