Dr. Jonathan Somma, Professor of Clinical Pathology, is this year’s recipient of the Resident Education and Commitment Award.

Chedaphne Audrict, UMC Cytology, is this year’s recipient of Best Support Staff Award.

We thank them both for their commitment to resident education!

This morning, program leadership hosted a breakfast for the graduating residents. While we are sad to see them go, we are excited to witness the bright future that awaits them in pathology!

LSU New Orleans medical student Carson J. Hebert was awarded the College of American Pathologists Distinguished Medical Student Award. The award was presented to Carson on behalf of the Department of Pathology by Rachna Jetly, MD, Vice Chair, Department of Pathology and Grace Athas, PhD, Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology.

Dr. Ayesha Younus accepted a hematopathology fellowship at Montefiore Einstein Medical Center, NY.

Dr. Angelle Jolly accepted a hematopathology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio.

This week, our Program Director travelled to Chicago for the ACGME Pathology Review Committee meeting.
