Sophisticated design approaches, high-tech tools and greener materials are making it easier to reduce embodied carbon in buildings. In a webinar hosted by the Society of American Registered Architects | New York Council this Thursday, Senior Principal Paul Becker of our Structural Engineering team and Principal Gunnar Hubbard, Vice President Jose Rodriguez and Project Director Emma Reif of our Sustainability practice will give the presentation “Taking Climate Action Through Low Carbon Design.” The session will look at why embodied carbon matters and some strategies for making positive change, including the use of timber in high-rise design and construction such as the concept for Chicago’s River Beech Tower. Registration is required and continuing education credits may be earned.
