A group of teachers in a large gallery space, seated and facing an artwork
Learn techniques for analyzing and interpreting modern and contemporary art in three New York City art museums during this week-long program. Hosted by The Metropolitan Museum of Art with The Museum of Modern Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
Objectives include:
· Learning and applying object-based teaching strategies in the classroom and beyond
· Building confidence incorporating modern and contemporary art into lesson plans
· Utilizing great works of art as forums for interdisciplinary investigations
· Becoming a part of a learning community with other educators and museum staff
Fee: Free to apply. $275 due upon acceptance into the program. Fee includes Museum admission, instruction, and materials. Lunch is not provided.
We encourage pre-service teachers to apply. Proof of enrollment is required. Pre-service teachers are those currently enrolled in a degree program to teach in a classroom or those who have graduated pre-service degree programs in the past year. If accepted, fees will be waived for pre-service teachers.
The program is limited to forty participants.
