๐Ÿ’™ From the Class of 2007 to the Class of 2022, alums recently returned to TSC for an evening of conversation, connection and reflection. We cherish these gatherings because they are a wonderful reminder that while students may leave TSC, they remain an important part of our community for years to come.

๐ŸŽ As the end of the school year approaches, students continue to extend their learning beyond the classroom through meaningful experiences across NYC! From exploring changemakers at The Jackie Robinson Foundation and deepening scientific inquiry at the American Museum of Natural History to celebrating a year of service at the NYPL The New York Public Library and connecting with nature at Black Rock Forest, these experiences bring curriculum to life while creating memories together.

The Gr. 8 Social Action Project Showcase celebrated the culmination of months spent examining issues, asking questions and taking action. Students presented projects that reflected both careful research and a growing understanding of the role they can play in shaping their communities.

In a full-circle moment, students were joined by TSC alum and New York State Assemblymember Jordan J.G. Wright for Harlem ('08โ€“'09), who shared his journey from TSC student to public servant. Hearing how his own Social Action Project sparked an interest in civic engagement offered a meaningful example of the lasting impact this work can have. Thanks for stopping by!

Did you know... butterfly wings are covered with thousands of scales, about 600 scales per square millimeter or up to one million scales per wing?! First graders learned this and much more about the amazing diversity of butterflies. They studied butterfly wings under the microscope, simulated how butterflies both see and smell the world, and interpreted butterfly movements through songs sung in Spanish and dance sequences.
