Koinonia means deep fellowship in Greek. CK's mission is to proclaim what we have seen and heard so together we can have fellowship with Jesus (1 John1:3).

Koinonia means "deep fellowship" in Greek. At Compass Koinonia (CK), we are committed to having true fellowship in Christ through sharing life together (and eating a lot and having lots of silly fun while doing it), studying and living out the the Word of God, and pointing others to enter the same fellowship. If you are curious at all about what a guy who lived 2000 years ago has to do with your l

Not a traditional Christmas verse but I needed this one today, so sending it out for whoever needs a friendly reminder too that God loves you, His grace is sufficient to cover you, and your weaknesses are opportunities to experience His loving grace and power and to bring Him glory.

Merry Christmas, everyone ๐Ÿงก

Advent Day 24: On this Christmas Eve, we remember the example of the wise men who followed Godโ€™s leading rather than manโ€™s, traveling far, so they could meet the Messiah, and upon seeing Him they bowed worshiping and offered their finest treasures.

For those of us who have been Christians a long time or have grown accustomed to being able to talk to Jesus whenever and wherever we want, however we are, sometimes we lose our reverence.

As we eagerly anticipate Christmas Day, letโ€™s remember to save our greatest worship and treasures for Him alone! โญ๏ธ

Advent Day 23: Jesus was a revolutionary because his platform was radical love.

He loved those who did not love him, and he loved those whom others did not love. Fast forward to today: He loves me much more than I love him, and he loves the people I donโ€™t love.

Sometimes the holidays are stressful because we find it hard to love even those we love or who love us! And yet so easy to retract love when we donโ€™t feel our love repaid! How much harder than, for me to love even one who does not love me back?

We are all implicated in Isaiah 53 for not loving the man who came solely to love us. But the amazing thing is, his gift of undeserved love is meant to free us from any guilt of not measuring up or being ungrateful & instead give us the opportunity to pay it forward. We demonstrate our gratitude to God for His gift of grace not by groveling but by giving. Who can you give love to today without expecting repayment? (you can pick more than one โ€˜whoโ€™!) ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒ

Advent Day 22: Unpopular opinion - all love begins with God.

Itโ€™s this idea that makes the chorus of one of my favorite Lauren Daigle songs so stirring to me:

โ€œWhat have I done to deserve love like this?
What have I done to deserve love like this?
I cannot earn what You so freely give
What have I done to deserve love like this?โ€

Itโ€™s an unexplainable relief and joy when you donโ€™t know your worth or underestimate it, when the weight of your shortcomings and mistakes makes you hide your full self from others, and then one day - and hopefully many, many days after that! - you experience the expansive, freeing, gracious love of God. The kind of love that transforms 1 John 4:11 from a command to an honor and genuine desire (though it is still a command!).

If youโ€™re finding yourself short on love for others, fill yourself to the brim again with God. LISTEN to how He talks about you, SEE what He did and does for you. He is the vine that gives life and sustaining nourishment to the branches. He is the well that does not run dry. ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒท
