Thanks to our community, partners, volunteers, and supporters we were able to expand food education programs, connect with families and schools across the country, and inspire healthier eating through Japanese food culture.

In 2025, we reached 6,729 participants through 330 classes and events—our highest numbers ever—and delivered 1.1 million nutritious school meals to children in need through our Onigiri Action campaign.

Thank you for being part of this journey. With your continued support, we look forward to growing our programs and reaching even more communities in the years to come.

This year's campaign was a major success! Our partner organizations and TFT hosted 81 events with participants across the United States. For each event participant or photo of an event posted on social media, one food education class will be provided for a child. We will be able to provide our Wa-Sho Japanese inspired food education to 2,616 children and community members!

Moreover, we’ve built new partnerships, connected with people from around the world, had fun with chopsticks, and prepared countless delicious dishes featuring a variety of soy foods to bring us another step closer toward our vision of a healthier world through better eating.

Led by US JET Alumni Association, this month's menu will finish our theme with Kei-chan Yaki, a specialty of Gifu Prefecture. This flavorful dish features miso-marinated chicken thighs stir-fried with cabbage and vegetables, making it a perfect recipe for busy spring schedules.

We’ll also prepare Rice with Spring Peas, a simple seasonal side dish that complements the Kei-chan Yaki in both taste and ease. To finish, we’ll make a Strawberry Matcha Latte. Once you learn the trick to making this specialty drink at home, you’ll be able to enjoy your own coffee-house favorite!
