Today's gloomy weather has us fondly remembering this year's sunny Summer Send-Off! ☀

Held each year, the Summer Send-Off brings our entire community together to celebrate a year of learning and welcome the start of summer. Huge thanks to our Co-Chairs Katie K., Jill L., Grace M., and Ariel Z.; to our incredible DJ, Chris M.; and to all of our parent volunteers for bringing this event to life!

On June 10th, we had the joy of celebrating this year’s graduating class during a very touching graduation ceremony. Throughout, graduates gave speeches that highlighted reflections on what they learned, the friendships they made, and what they'll miss most about VCS.

To our newest alums: Please remember that, even as you start new adventures in the fall, you'll always have a home at VCS. We can't wait to see everything you accomplish!

Yesterday was filled with cheer as we celebrated the end of the school year! After starting the day with a celebratory parade for our 8th Graders (now alums!), we concluded the festivities with plenty of laughing—and even more singing—during a very joyous Closing Assembly.

We truly can't believe how fast this year flew by, but you know what they say: time flies when you're having fun!

We hope everyone is having a wonderful start to their summer.

Each year, 6th Grade ELA students study the works of William Shakespeare, with a particular focus on the comedy "Twelfth Night." As a culmination of their studies, students perform a lively selection of vignettes from the play to delve deeper into the text in a fun and creative way.

Ahead of the performance, students spend time closely analyzing this iconic work of literature, exploring plot developments, the motivations of each character, and recurring thematic elements in order to put on a show that's joyful and informed. Bravo, everyone!

Last week, our Upper School leaders enjoyed a VCS tradition: the 8th Grade Overnight!

Over the course of their trip to D.C., students explored the nation's capital, visited iconic landmarks, and more. Most importantly, the trip served as a celebration of the friendships they've made at VCS, as well as all that's to come as they look towards high school.

We hope everyone had an amazing time!
