We may have taken some creative liberties. ๐ฌ๐
But honestly? Watching a kid debug their code and finally get it to work hits different every single time. ๐
This is a regular day at The Coding Space. Come see for yourself!

Our Summer Camp has officially started! And enrollment is still open. โ๏ธ๐๏ธ
If you've been on the fence, here's exactly what your child's first day looks like ๐
Every morning, campers write real code in Scratch, JavaScript, and Python, working on projects they actually care about. Our instructors use the Socratic Method, so instead of being handed answers, students are pushed to think through problems on their own. With a 4:1 camper-to-instructor ratio, no one gets left behind.
Every afternoon, campers choose a Tech Pathway to go deeper. This week we're spotlighting Game Design.
Campers use tools like Bitsy and GDevelop to build real video games, learning level design, game mechanics, and user experience along the way.
Stay tuned; we'll be covering all 4 pathways over the coming weeks. ๐
Bonus: we also offer scheduled outdoor time at local parks and field trips to STEM museums and tech companies in the city so our students get exposure to real-world applications of what they're learning at camp.

Your kids don't need a lab to do real science: just a kitchen, some materials, and lots of curiosity ๐งชโจ
Swipe to take a sneak peek at STEM projects you can try at home this weekend, including:
๐ Build a Bridge: design it, test it, and see how much weight it holds before it breaks
๐ Invisible Ink: write a secret message with lemon juice and reveal it with heat
๐ Balloon Rocket: launch a balloon across the room using nothing but air pressure
Each one is simple, mess-friendly (mostly ๐
), and packed with real science.
Save this for the weekend and tag us if you try one; we'd love to see it! ๐
See the full list of STEM projects on our website blog: https://www.thecodingspace.com/blog/2026-06-08-6-stem-experiments-to-try-at-home-with-your-kids/
At The Coding Space, students don't play games; they build them. ๐ฎโจ
From designing the characters to writing every line of code, our students learn game design and programming from the ground up.
Every bug they fix. Every feature they build. Every time something finally works after it didn't, that's a lesson in persistence, creativity, and problem-solving that goes way beyond the screen and the classroom.
It's more than a coding class. It's skills and confidence they carry for life. ๐

PSA for every parent who thinks coding camp is just their kid zoning out in front of a screen
Here's what's actually going on in there
- Learning how to break down and solve problems independently
- Experimenting with technology
- Collaborating with other students
- Building, testing, and debugging their own projects
- Walking out with something they made and are proud of
Spoiler: they're not just staring at a screen. They're learning how to think. ๐ง ๐

This week, New York City celebrates its tech community during NYC Tech Week, and at The Coding Space, we think that's worth reflecting on.
The city's tech industry is built by people who, at some point, were just curious kids who wanted to understand how things worked.
That's exactly the spark we aim to nurture. At The Coding Space, students don't just consume technology; they learn to build it, question it, and shape it to their own ideas.
Whether it's a game, an app, or a creative project built entirely from scratch, every student leaves with more than coding skills.
They leave with confidence, persistence, and the belief that they can create something real.
Here's to the next generation of NYC builders. ๐ฝ

Our 10-year-old student wrote more than 200 lines of code to make a boss battle game ๐คฏ
From making the boss shoot lasers and rotating soccer balls to making the health bar adjust to damage, every part of this game was built using real JavaScript.
This is what project-based coding looks like at The Coding Space: students don't just learn syntax โ they build things they're actually proud of and have fun with๐
What will your child create next?
