SCAN-Harbor’s response to COVID-19 has focused on two essential areas.
First, to address the health and mental health issues in our communities, we launched new pandemic-response programs and services, such as our school day Learning Labs for elementary, middle, and high school students, our Test & Trace COVID-19
Community Response Team, and our Circles of Healing discussion groups, to provide emotional support to residents.
Second, thanks to our extraordinary staff, we continued consistent delivery of our ongoing critical services. Together, these actions are enabling SCAN-Harbor to provide vital supports to our youth, as they continue to pursue excellence and thrive, despite these challenging times.
Please join us for this special event, as we hear from our students and staff, celebrate how much we’ve accomplished, and discuss what comes next for the communities of Harlem, East Harlem and the South Bronx.

The Harbor is a place in Harlem where young minds see a future for themselves and a world they never imagined. We find the inherent gifts of young people and nurture them. We find their intellectual character and expose them to experiences that help them discover their real potential. We help give Harlem kids perspective beyond a 10-block knowledge.
The Harbor is an education-focused organization committed to providing an Individual Learning Plan for every Harbor student to assure comprehensive academic training and emotional development, enriched by infusing the arts into our culture and curriculum.
