The future is bright! Our scholars recently cast their votes in this year’s Student Government elections, and a new cabinet has been elected. We’re excited to see these student leaders bring fresh ideas, inspire their peers, and make a positive impact in the school year ahead. Congratulations to our newly elected representatives!

✔️ 6 additional college credits earned!
This year, scholars from our Harlem and Bronx campuses joined forces to take a college-level course through Monroe University, led by our very own Adjunct Professor and newly recognized Illuminator of the Year, Ms. Wilson! 🎓👏🏽
Through collaboration, critical thinking, and rigorous academic work, these scholars embraced every challenge, supported one another, and demonstrated what it means to be truly college-bound.
We are incredibly proud of their dedication, growth, and achievement as they continue building bright futures—one college credit at a time. 🌟

Building stronger communities, one lion at a time🦁 Community engagement and service are at the heart of the Capital Prep experience. Our scholars recently partnered with students at PS 133, sharing their love of reading with Pre-K and Kindergarten learners through story time, mentorship, and meaningful connections.

Social Justice Projects (SJP) are a core pillar and capstone graduation requirement at Capital Prep. Beginning their Junior year, scholars identify a community issue, design and execute an action plan to address it and raise awareness through comprehensive findings with a panel of academic advisors and community partners. Through extensive focus groups, data collection, and treatments, this scholar discussed and presented her project on the harsher disciplinary actions and treatment of Black girls in her community. She was able to identify factors that contribute to the inequality and provide resources to overcome the inequity.

We're proud to have a longstanding partnership with Livingstone College and many of our alumni have been accepted and are currently thriving at Livingstone College -- so it's no surprise when Dr. Davis, President of Livingstone, wanted to stop by Capital Prep Harlem to reward Presidential scholarships and accept our scholars in person. Because of their GPA and extracurricular activities, two of our scholars received full scholarships!
