Formerly known as the NOW Legal Defense Fund, Legal Momentum has a long history as the nation’s oldest gender justice legal advocacy group and continues to work on cutting-edge issues with a particular focus on women and girls of color. Legal Momentum provides legal support for a range of issues including domestic violence in the workplace, commercial s*x trafficking, equity in education, gender bias in the courts, and cyber-s*xtortion.

Legal Momentum is seeking Communications and Development interns for Fall 2019.

The responsibilities of the internship will include: Writing grants and researching potential donors, contributing to the visual branding of LM website and newsletter, creating content for the newsletter, pitching stories for national media, and maintaining social media presence. There will also be opportunities to assist the legal team’s research, attend legal meetings, and develop understanding about the policies and practices related to Legal Momentum’s pro bono services and policy action. Interns report directly to Vice President and Chief Strategic Officer Siobhan “Sam” Bennett, who is dedicated to providing interns with substantive work opportunities.
