As part of Hewitt’s Venturer Program, upper schoolers traveled to Peru to explore the country’s diverse cultures, communities, and geographic landscapes. Over the course of 8 days, students visited a variety of local sites including the Maras Salt Mines, the Incan archaeological site at Moray, and Machu Picchu. A highlight of the trip was their 2-day visit to the Q'ewar Project, a social work initiative located in the Andes Mountains, where students helped pack bushels of corn and participated in a doll making workshop led by local artisans. Thank you to trip chaperones Tim Clare and Kelsey Hanf for leading Hewitt students through this meaningful travel experience focused on women’s entrepreneurship, sustainability, and service learning!

Before heading off for summer vacation, our faculty and staff came together for Insight: Celebrating What Makes Hewitt Extraordinary! Hosted by our Center for Girls' Research and Leadership, this mini-conference invited colleagues to share their expertise with each other and engage in the same exciting, hands-on learning our students enjoy every day!

After learning about the important role bees play as pollinators and the purpose of pollen and nectar, second graders created needle-felted bees and flowers. Adding bright yellow “pollen” to their wet-felted flowers made their learning come alive in this creative cross-curricular project.
🎉Congratulations to our newest Hewitt Alumnae! Class of 2026 - we are full of for all that you have already achieved and look forward to celebrating your future successes in college and beyond! 🎉
