The Occupy Caravan leaves June 11 from three West Coast cities, traveling east for 20 days on its way to the National Occupy Gathering in Philadelphia!

This goes out to any and all who wish to participate, engage -- and DRIVE -- with the Occupy Caravan that is coming your way soon, headed for Independence Mall in Philadelphia for the biggest and certainly the most unique July 4 gathering this country has seen in a while. ree West Coast cities -- Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles -- and will take three principal routes, northern, central and southern, as it crosses the country over a 20-day stretch. Bringing in more than 100 U.S. cities, with 15 main hub cities and feed-in caravans entering from communities all over, the Occupy Caravan will reach Philly on June 30 in time for the five-day Occupy National Gathering. It is not unrealistic to think that a quarter of a million people could temporarily inhabit the birthplace of our Constitution during those days. The initial planning for this action was put forward by members of Occupy Wall Street, Occupy Los Angeles and Occupy Philadelphia, but it will be up to Occupies in towns and cities everywhere to make this happen as a media, entertainment and social engagement event in your area. Any and all ideas/proposals/suggestions are invited. Don't worry about logistics -- it involves bringing a tent, some gas money (with your own vehicle if possible) and lots and lots of spirit! What we're needing is people to organize and start to get the word out in your communities, start arranging an event for the Caravan's arrival -- and start preparing to drive off together in June to Occupy the City of Brotherly Love. We're setting up point people across the country to handle questions/requests, facilitate with planning and assist in whatever way possible to make the trip a safe and successful adventure. Departing from Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles on June 11, The Occupy Caravan will follow three separate routes -- Northern, Central and Southern -- across the country, absorbing feed-in caravans along the way and entering dozens of cities to stage educational and entertainment events, bringing the messages and spirit of Occupy through the Heartland. The Caravan is scheduled to reach Philadelphia on June 30 for the 5-Day Occupy National Gathering culminating July 4 on Independence Mall.
