Graduate Spotlight on Tshari Yancey 🎉 🎓 🎭

Tshari is graduating magna cm laude with a Bachelor of Technology in Entertainment Technology. Through her department, she received the Theatreworks Award and participated in the Pratt Institute Undergraduate Research 2024 Summer Cohort at the Center for Climate Adaptation. She also conducted undergraduate research through the Emerging Scholars Program from March 2024 to May 2025.

“During my time at City Tech, I challenged myself more than ever. I never thought that through the Emerging Scholars Program I would be able to voice a character and be the playwright for a live theatrical performance called The Archer’s Journey. That’s when I realized my potential and stopped doubting myself.”

After graduation, Tshari plans to enroll at the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema to pursue an M.F.A. in Cinema Arts with a concentration in Digital Animation. She will also continue her stop-motion animation and shadow puppet freelance work.
