Wycliffe’s strength was in preaching and teaching and he trained men known as Lollards who went throughout Europe preaching the gospel. To put the revolutionary nature of this into perspective it’s important to understand that during this time the reading of the scriptures in the language of the common people was considered dangerous and forbidden and in giving the Bible to the people in their own language Wycliffe began a movement in England that would culminate in the revolution that was the Reformation.

What composed the Waldensian worldview? In a phrase, lux lucet in tenebris. They lived and worked as a light shining in the darkness.
What composes your worldview? How do you answer the four most fundamental questions of life? A biblical worldview would lead you to live as light shining in darkness wherever you are. As Edward VI lay dying, at the tender age of 15, he felt his kingdom slipping from his weakened grasp. He had had such plans for England - plans to plant the Reformation in the midst of his kingdom and usher it into a glorious age. Yet it was not to be. It seemed all his plans would be shattered and his sister Mary would take the throne, and take the kingdom all the way back to Rome. Determined to stop the oncoming tide at all costs Edward devised a plan. He moved to nullify his father’s plans for the English throne and replace them with his own blueprint - one that would ensure England remained safely protestant for generations to come. He died before he could see his plans fully mature. His death balanced the kingdom on a knife’s blade, threatening to plunge England into yet another civil war.
