I’m sure that this will ruffle some feathers, but it needs to be said, how busy you are at work or what you do or how much you burn out doesn’t determine your worth at work and especially in life.

Too many times cops equate burnout, danger, the crime rate or the perception of those things by others as your sense of worth and value. “I am only valuable (or my highest sense of value is) because I hunt the evil you pretend doesn’t exist”

This is why we deny statistics, deny reality, and put skulls, crossbones, guns and punisher skills on every t shirt and challenge coin even if we work in a nice gig like Health and Wellness. (👋)

The less “busy” the command the greater the sense of identity crisis is most times. The justification of “well, we may not be busy on paper but…” bro just enjoy it and embrace that you have a better quality of life.

We do this because we place entirely too much of our self worth and value on what we feel other cops and people think about how dangerous, how busy, and how meaningful THEY think about what we do as a job.

1) This is just a job.
2) Your value is not determined by what you do for work and neither is your purpose.

Never forget that you and your life are more important than what you do for work.

Why was this Championship Title for the Knicks so much bigger than a lot of others, there’s many factors like a million but in all honesty I think it’s bigger than just the Knicks it’s about New York vs Everyone. New York of Nowhere.
