Hi all. For those that I haven't met, I am Scott Parker, and I'm expanding Stage Seminars to offer design/tech workshops specifically for educators. Many of these sessions can provide professional development and/or continuing education credit through your school or state system. I’m already approved as an Act 48 provider in Pennsylvania, and I’m happy to work with districts and PD coordinators in other states to get you credit whenever possible.
I can put together custom daylong or multi‑day workshops in your area for small groups, single schools, or full districts.
Topics include: Lighting design, electrics, programming, and running lighting consoles. Sound system basics, mics, and live audio mixing. Rigging fundamentals and safety. Vectorworks and digital drafting. Hand drafting and practical drawing skills for theatre. Building scenery, flats, platforms, periaktoi units, etc. Stage management, Scenic painting. Costuming.
If you’d like an overview of the Act 48 / PD options and session descriptions, here’s a starting point:

If you’re interested in bringing something like this to your school, district, or like-minded group of teachers, comment here or send me a message, and we’ll see what makes sense for your program and your students.

USITT in March... Who's going?

10/24/2025

Hey friends!
I have some exciting news to share! Stage Seminars, the project that started to support my Stage Lighting Super Saturday workshop, is now officially recognized as an Act 48 provider in Pennsylvania!
This means that I can offer professional development hours through my workshops covering stage lighting, design, technology, and such.
I have a few courses in mind, including lighting design, rigging basics, Vectorworks in the classroom, and teaching stage tech. However, I would love to hear your input!
What topics would you like to see offered for Act 48 credit?
Would you prefer lighting, sound, stage tech, or something else hands-on for school theater programs?
I'll be cross-posting to a few other groups.
